Austyn was sitting on the couch with a book in his lap, looking over at her every once and a while. He really didn't like seeing her like this, but there wasn't much he could do.

What do you want me to do with Haley?

Erm.... I don't know.... Whatever I guess

Clary finally cleared the table before leashing Tammy. "It's time for her walk," she muttered.

Haley sighed softly before resting her forearms on her knees and staring at the sky.

"I'll go with you." Austyn said, sticking a scrap piece of paper between the pages of his book and standing up to walk over to her. He was worried that something might happen if she was left alone...

Well I don't know.

Clary nodded and bent, hooking the leash to the energetic puppy. "Let's go then," she murmured.

Austyn nodded and slipped his shoes on before going towards the door. "Are you sure you're ok? You have been acting weird ever since I got back." he said softly.

Clary shook her head. "I'm perfectly fine Austyn," she said softly. "Nothing is different than before, other than the fact that you're a lot older."

"There is alot different. You're more closed off and just... strange." Austyn said. "I don't like it. You were much more fun when you weren't trying to be strong all the time."

Clary sighed. "I've lost two people I love in the same month," Clary said softly. "I'm allowed to be different, to be more closed off. I don't want to be a sobbing mess on the couch, which is why I'm trying to be strong Austyn. I just want to live on."

"This isn't living. You're nothing more than a robot." Austyn said and shook his head. "You're starting to freak me out. I don't want to leave you alone because I'm scared you're going to do something stupid." he said honestly. "Please, just stop doing this. You're not being strong. Strength isn't holding everything in and slowly killing yourself.

"What do you want me to do than Austyn?" Clary replied hotly. "I'm not stupid and I've been alive long enough to know not to do anything stupid. I've been alone longer than this. I am being strong because I'm pushing through those mundane emotions. I'm fine."

"You're not pushing through! You're just shoving them away and pretending they don't exist. Pushing through is freaking out for a day and eating truckloads of ice cream and then just going on with your life. What you're doing is ignoring it. I want you to stop being so closed off and just be normal for a little bit. I get that you want to seem strong, but this doesn't make you seem strong." he said bluntly.

Clary shook her head. "You weren't there for the past months," she said lowly. "You have no idea what I did for those first few weeks." She turned away from him and started walking out. "This is normal for me. This is my normal. Stop trying to change me or fix me. I don't need the help."

"Want to know what was happening to me? My host was burning up from the inside out and there were people trying to force me out. You can't even imagine what kind of things they did to me." Austyn said bluntly. "Do you see me being a robot? No. You need to suck it up and just let it all out so you can go on with your life."

"That's what I trying to do, dammit!" Clary exploded. "I'm not you! I handle things my way! Leave my habits alone! I don't need some know it all telling me that I'm living my life wrong, because this is my fucking life, not yours Austyn! Leave me the hell alone about it and drop it!"

Austyn sighed and just shook his head. "You know what. Whatever." he said and sighed. "I'll be back at home. Don't you dare do anything stupid while you're out." he said and just turned to go back home, irritated with her for being so stupid.

Clary just ignored him, pissed off. With Tammy's leash in her hand, she led the dog to the park, before releasing her and started to play with the puppy.

Tammy suddenly got all scared looking and tried to bolt, straining at the end of her leash.

"Stupid dog." a framiliar voice muttered, "I'm not gonna hurt you, calm down."

Clary had bent down to calm the dog when she heard the voice. She tense, refusing to look at him. "Can I help you?" she asked calmly, her voice not shaking once as she petted the dog soothingly

Clary still refused to look at him. "I'm fine." She seemed to be saying this a lot lately and was getting tired of saying it. "Just go back to your mistress and leave me alone Ben."

Ben had been with her long enough to tell when she was lying. He walked around her and tilted her head up to face him, "I could care less about Elsbeth and her stupid little missions. You are obviously not fine and that's much more important to me, got it?" he said and gave her a look.
